Selecting an Interior Designer for Your Home Remodeling Project

Finding a capable designer – good interior design consultants are like good therapists. They don’t tell you what to do, rather they guide you through a process of selecting options that best suite your style and provides the best outcome. So how do you find a acceptable only interior design consultant? Well, the best way is through word of mouth and referrals. Talk to your friends to see if any of them recently used an interior design specialist and if they would re-use the designer for another project. Interior designer web sites can be helpful, but also visit local builders and model homes to obtain referrals. Another great source for referrals can be your local furniture store. Many furniture store retailers provide interior design referrals or have local designers that moonlight in the evening. Your local parade of homes or builder show rooms are also good sources.

Due diligence – You should interview a few interior design consultants before making your final selection. Be sure to review their portfolio of recent projects. Ask each designer about his/her education, training, professional affiliations and other credentials.  Ask for referrals and contact their prior clients to assess their level of satisfaction. It’s important that you develop a good relationship with your interior design consultant. Be prepared to show multiple photographs of what you desire. This will help you communicate your desires and help you determine if the designer’s style aligns with what you are envisioning.

Attentive listening –  Many interior designers will appear to be listening, but then politely ignore your suggestions.   This can be good and bad.  It’s good when the designer is very good at what they do, have taken the time to understand your design intentions and then choose to discards the suggestions that do not fit with their overall design plan you have previously approved.  It’s bad when an inexperienced designer ignores your suggestions and then ultimately you are not happy with the end results.  An experienced designer will create a delicate balance between the two. It is important that you feel the designer is listening to you.  You should also feel comfortable discussing your budget and feel comfortable saying no. In the end, you need to feel like there was a common goal between you and the designer.

Experience wins  – The ideal interior design consultant will have more than 10 of experience working with builders, vendors and other suppliers. They should have expertise in fabric, appliances, furniture and other accessories. After listening to your desires, they should be able to take you to the showrooms, fabric stores and other vendors that will supply you with products that will develop and complement your individual style.

Selecting the right Interior Design Consultant will help ensure that when the home improvement project is finishedFree Web Content, you love the results.

MLM Prospects and MLM Prospecting: The Magic of a ‘Funded Proposal’

If I’d spoken of MLM prospecting and finding MLM prospects being a ‘profit centre’ rather than a ‘cost centre’ in the old days, the men in white coats would have taken me away.

In those days, prospecting was such hard work that many people wouldn’t have done it even if you had paid them. In those days ‘Funded Proposal’ meant getting engaged to someone with a good job.

I’m sure you remember being told constantly about time ‘leverage’. I do. Certainly, if our prospects eventually blossomed into highly motivated and productive distributors then, yes, we would achieve the ‘Holy Grail’ of time leverage. Shame it was so tough for any but the super-charismatic few to hang around long enough to reap the rewards.

The problem was back then that the process of prospecting was so completely ‘unleveraged’ that it usually sucked the lifeblood out of distributors before they even experienced the magic of duplication.

And it wasn’t just the time it took to find decent MLM prospects. MLM prospecting was very tough emotionally. Not many of us like to face rejection from family and friends on a constant basis. Even though there were huge success stories in my own organisation, to me it felt like very hard work for not much return.

The real problem of course is back then we were always in the role of ‘salesperson’. The prospect had never sought us or our business opportunity, so we were always on the back foot.

The problem seemed overwhelming. How could you build a residual income though prospecting when the very act of finding serious prospects was draining your bank account?

Enter the ‘Funded Proposal’ method of prospecting and a wholly different way of attracting real prospects. In the old days, you remember, it was all about us chasing them and gleefully showing people how they could get rid of their J.O.B. and walk the beaches with us. I used to wonder why people ran the other way.

Nowadays the biggest hitters are the ones who attract MLM prospects to them. The most effective way to do that is to offer a free report or mini-series of genuine value, that people will happily give their e-mail addresses for in exchange.

They are then followed up automatically by autorepsonder, and offered a quality e-book for a small fee that will give them practical help. Now your MLM prospecting activities have found a serious lead to whom you can send helpful content and profitable offers for eternity.

The key thing is that this prospect will be a fruitful contact for you even if they never join your primary opportunity. You do of course offer it to them, but roughly 95% will not want that – at least not now. In the old days, a ‘no’ prospect didn’t enter any sort of MLM ‘marketing funnel’, more likely they entered a ‘derision funnel’ – an increasingly large group of people asking you if you’d made a million yet.

Learning to use the ‘Funded Proposal’ system will be pure prospecting ‘gold’ for you, and it’s a hundred times easier to master than sidling up to people in the grocery queue and handing out flyers.

A Funded Proposal system, properly crafted, will pay you more as you prospect more, the opposite from days gone by. MLM prospects will join you and your helpful content, and that relationship will be far more important than sponsoring a tyre-kicker into your primary opportunity only to give you the old ‘we’ve been thinking about it’ routine.

If you can make MLM prospecting a process that earns you some money, isn’t that a better model for sustained growth than having your MLM prospects drain your timeHealth Fitness Articles, your money and your motivation?

Consider a Business Credit Card for Your Small Business

The theoretical financial provisions made in the business plan may well not cover everything in practice. There are usually a couple of unforeseen and unplanned circumstances that will demand some additional cash. This is where a business credit card comes in really handy.

If you are asking whether it is absolutely necessary to have a business credit card, then the answer is: No, a business credit card is not an absolute necessity. But who says it cannot be of valuable assistance? The truth is that when a cash flow crisis arises, a business credit card offers you both the confidence and the cash to overcome the hurdle. Whilst financing the business from a credit card may seem a little expensive, it becomes essential if you need to buy a few items or pay for a transaction while your cash is still tied up in product inventory.

As long as you manage the payments on your business credit card properly, in other words, pay all the charges due for that particular period in full, it will actually help to have the business credit card in your wallet. The monthly credit card statements offer a useful way of keeping track of your expenses. Some business credit cards even come with a built-in microchip that downloads your account history when you log on to the website of your business credit card issuer.

As with any other transactions where debt is involved, there are some risks that you need to be aware of. Forewarned is forearmed.

The first risk is that that your personal finances will be inseparably connected with that of you business, especially during the early years of your having the business credit card. When you complete the application form for a business credit card, the terms and conditions of the contract will contain a stipulation whereby which you agree to assume personal liability for the business credit card in the same way that you would for a personal credit card. There is no problem with that if your business does well, and if there is sufficient cash to repay the business credit card debt. However, if the business should ever fail to cover payments that are due, the business credit card issuer will turn to you.

The second risk is related to your credit score. When you initially applied for the business credit card, the lender would have obtained both your personal credit record as well as that of your business. If the business misses its business credit card payments for whatever reason, this default will also be reflected on your personal credit report, thus affecting both your personal credit score and that of the business.

There is also the chance that if you run up too high a balance on the business credit cardFeature Articles, lenders may decide that you are carrying too much credit – even if your payments are religiously current.

A business credit card is a valuable financial safety net for any small business; provided that it is managed with the same responsibility and prudence you would afford your own personal credit card.

Tips For Collecting Old Money

Coin collectors are much more common than old money collectors of the paper variety, though the latter are still quite active and manage to find some rare items occasionally. That paper variety may include pre US colonial currency, money from the beginning of the 19th century, currency from the Confederate States of America and also some souvenir cards of old money as the money itself are almost impossible to find and twice as hard to purchase.

If you are keen on collecting old money you will probably know that a collector’s item of old money is called fractional currency. I was really intrigued when I learnt that during the Civil War the United States began printing 50 cents, 25 cents, 15 cents, 10 cents and 5 cents paper money as they run short on change. Now such weird banknotes are highly desired by any true collector.

There is also other interesting fractional currency which is much sought after. These are private banknotes from the 1800s. Before the US government created a national banknote there were some banks issuing their own money without government backing. However, it was not long before these banks were closed down and the banknotes were counterfeited and altered.

Once the national bank system was established, privately issued bank money was declared to be illegal. Ever since US government money was issued it has retained monetary value. However, it is not the same case with the obsolete old bills from closed banks and this is the prime reason why these banknotes are worth finding. Actually private banknotes from the 1800s have remained an interesting item for collectors throughout the centuries.

It is pretty evident that a lot of old money has significant value nowadays. It is true that casual collectors cannot afford to have any authentic old money and notes from the 1800s and early 1900s as their value and consequently price are too high. That’s how collecting souvenir cards are becoming more and more popular. Having them you can collect a piece of history without actually paying a high price for it.

If you are wondering where you can find old money, you probably wont like my answer. It is really difficult to find old money. Of course, you might still be able to collect a Thomas Jefferson two dollar bill, but those antique coins and notes you are seeking won’t be easily found, nor purchased. The easiest way to satisfy your desire to collect old money is through dealers, collectors, auctions and old money paper shows.

You might also find the International Bank Note Society’s Journal and webpage not only very interesting but useful, as well. They offer contact information for trades and auctions and what is the best, they provide you with images of old currency on their website. In conclusionPsychology Articles, old money collecting is a unique and fun hobby. It has its challenges but it there is no doubt it is worth taking.

Why You Do NOT Need Money! Free Success Mentoring Money Secret!

Have you ever thought about how your “need” for money could be the biggest obstacle preventing you from getting the money you “need”? Getting past this problem is a key “success secret” that should be a part of every success mentoring program.

One of the reasons why it is unhelpful to focus on the thought that you “need money” is because it is likely to cause you to lower your horizons and grab the first offer that comes your way.

If you are in a situation where you feel that you really do “need the money”, what would happen if you didn’t get it?

When you come up with an answer, ask yourself what would you do next… Even if you did not get the money you “needed” there could well be other opportunities out there that prove to be much better – because no single opportunity is the be all and end all of a situation.

Here’s another question: How long could you live without this money before you’d have to go and live on the streets?

I know of someone who thought he “needed money” but, when he did this exercise, he discovered that he could probably survive for ten years before turning himself out to the mercy of the streets.

Working with a success mentoring coach, he decided to concentrate on building his business on the assumption that he had enough money to live.

Now, instead of focusing on his “neediness” and his fear of poverty, he based all of his decisions on his vision of the future and his desire for success.

And, guess what… in less than a year he was making TEN TIMES more money than he had been doing when focusing on his fears and his perceptions of neediness.

You might think that this person was a lot less needy than you are and so it was much easier for him.

Well, if that is what you are determined to believe, so be it.

Nevertheless, his experience does illustrate a very interesting fact.

When you let go of neediness and start acting on what you desire from the point of view of who you aspire to be, you are no longer working out of desperation, but out of inspiration.

As I said earlier, a sense of neediness will cause you to settle for the first thing that comes your way. Every time you focus on a negative thought you reinforce its power over your life and load the scales on the side of failure.

But when you act as if you already have plenty of money and are assured that you will have more, you will find yourself moving forward with the assurance of a sleepwalker.

You then make decisions not only without fear, but with joyfulness, and you can ask for what you want and making your vision plain without fear of loss.

Unfortunately, the great majority of people have been conditioned to act on fear and worry. Unfortunately, fear is a terribly ineffective state within which to make decisions.

What is fear?

Fear is a belief in our inadequacy to deal with something.*

When you are in a state of fear you shrink and suffer a loss of inspiration and a narrowing of vision. You get more and more anxious and your anxiety communicates itself to other people who will then hesitate to do business with you.

But when you operate in a state of self belief, courage, optimism and benevolence for others, you radiate ease and well-being. Your creativity grows. Opportunities that you had not noticed before suddenly become available to you and others are keen to work with you.

General Contractor: Easing the Stress of Home Renovation

A general contractor is a construction professional who typically
manages a team of skilled laborers and construction specialists, and
offers a range of construction-related services. Most contractors bring
the expertise to handle full-fledged home renovation projects while some
prefer to focus on specific areas such as room addition or remodeling
of individual areas in the home.

Services Covered
General contractors offer professional management of construction site
crews and may also subcontract work to a range of trained workers
including architects, electricians and plumbers. Before beginning on new
projects most contractors ask to review related documents particularly
tenders or property titles, as well as any renovation plans to define
the scope of work and provide quotations to help estimate costs.

Established contractors often offer an end-to-end service that addresses
every aspect of construction including structural design and
engineering, and bring years of experience handling varied ventures from
large scale commercial renovations to home remodeling projects.
Licensed contractors can greatly ease the stress of home renovation by
managing the intricacies of a restoration effort, right from hiring and
supervising laborers and skilled experts to planning and budgeting.

Choosing Authorized Contractors
There are several regulatory bodies such as the Association of General
Contractors (AGC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) that specify the skills and safety regulations that contractors
in a specific arena needs to adhere to. Government regulatory agencies
help defend consumer interests while still taking into account job
safety guidelines thereby protecting hired hands and building crews who
all too often face physical hardships and health concerns at work.

Authorized contracting services who comply with government guidelines
and meet safety standards are also more likely to be seen as legitimate
and genuine, making them an ideal fit for clients looking for a quality
construction management service. Compliance with well-known associations
sends a strong message of professionalism to home owners and consumers
and helps them make a prudent decision when hiring a service.

Hiring Tips
Individual contractors who are experienced may be a good fit for smaller
projects such as kitchen remodeling, while well-established general
contractor is the best choice for larger renovations that involve
significant structural modifications. While individual contractors who
bring some civil engineering background, such as a degree in
construction technology or management are preferable, this is usually
not necessary as long as they offer significant experience in the field.

Regardless of the size of the business, contractors must have
established safety norms to help manage construction site hazards for
both workers and clients. In addition to fulfilling job safety
standards, experienced contractors demonstrate good work ethics and
business principles and help homeowners meet their specific needs while
keeping costs reasonable. Whether you choose a reputed contracting
company or an individual, be sure to evaluate your specific needs as
against the services offered.

Homeowners looking to hire a qualified general contractor need to first
define project scope and ascertain their desired budget. As with any
service, it helps to choose providers with adequate experience as well
know-how about the array of construction technologies. Home renovation
is a significant decision and choosing the right remodeling service can
make all the difference.

Ten business time savers to help bring order to your day, and more money to your bottom line.

If there’s one thing most small business owners never have enough of (besides money), it’s time.  With so many tasks needing to be done, it’s nearly impossible to get everything accomplished and have enough time for the other areas of your life.  These business time savers should help you bring order to your day and more quality to your life.Order OnlineWhen you order your office supplies, equipment, furnishings, etc., online, not only can you save time, but often you can even save money.  Online office supply stores like and often have great sales, and free shipping.  Plus, you’ll save tons of time and gas money not running around town.Delivery ServicesDon’t even think about getting in a car and making a delivery yourself.  Instead, open an account with a delivery service.  They will pick up and deliver almost anything to almost anywhere.  Once you reach a certain volume, you might want to consider hiring a “runner” and buying a gas sipper car for your delivery person to drive.  You will have to run the numbers to seen when and if that makes sense.  One other note about delivery services…check the regular places where you do business (i.e. dry cleaners, copy shop, restaurants, pharmacies, et al) to see if they offer pick up and delivery.Buy in BulkThere are many items that you can buy in bulk at warehouse stores like Sam’s and Costco that will save you time and money.  Paper towels, toilet paper, copy paper, coffee, coffee filters…stock up and avoid multiple trips.Write Things DownI keep a “To Do / Daily Goals” list in a Word document on my computer desktop that I update every day before I shut down shop.  I have it divided into daily tasks and weekly tasks.  As I accomplish a task from my daily list, I just delete it.  Same with the weekly section.  I would recommend keeping some type of similar list somewhere (either on your computer, a Day-Timer, a hand-held computer, or just handwritten) and check it first thing in the morning, and as needed during the day.  Before you leave for home, update your list so it will be ready for you first thing the next morning.  I know, I know…some people just don’t like keeping lists.  I used to be one of them.  However, once I started, I found my productivity skyrocket!  It was easier for me to focus on the tasks at hand, and I was less likely to become distracted. If you’ve never kept a to-do, I would strongly recommend you start doing so.  Control Your DayDon’t let your time get away from you.  There will always be distractions and emergencies, but if you manage your day by prioritizing and doing the most important things first, you can gain more control. (See the next point for the one exception to this rule.)  Don’t allow yourself to be pulled from one thing to the other.Don’t ProcrastinateWhile we’re on the subject of prioritizing, let’s talk about procrastination.  It’s so easy to put things off that we don’t want to do.  Pretty soon, those things niggle at us until they become seemingly insurmountable.  Procrastination begets procrastination.  If you’re not careful, you could become known as someone who can’t get things done, or someone who doesn’t keep promises.  Either is bad.  Here’s the one thing I do and encourage others to do to beat procrastination:  Do that which you don’t want to do most, first. You get it out of the way, you get to feel good about yourself, and you stop thinking of yourself as a procrastinator.   Break it DownWhen you have a large task in front of you, the best thing you can do is to break it down into manageable steps.  Accomplish the first step, move onto the next.  Get the next step done, move on to the third.  And so on.  Soon it will be mission accomplished.Learn to DelegateOne of the hardest things for small business owners to do is to give up control to someone else.  But with only so many hours in the day, getting everything done that’s necessary to grow a business is nearly impossible.  Which is why it’s important to delegate.  Start by dividing your tasks into those which you specifically have to do, and those which you can give to someone else.  If you can give it away, do so.Block Out TimeIn order to get tasks done that require focus, try blocking out chunks of time.  For instance, if you need to brainstorm ways to increase sales, put the time on your calendar, and when the time rolls around, don’t answer emails or your phone until the allotted time is up.  Focus on the task at hand without distraction.  I block chunks of time on a daily basis.  Since I am most creative in the mornings, I use those hours to write and brainstorm.  Afternoons are for emails, meetings, and the business end of my businesses.  I long ago structured my life around my natural biorhythms as much as possible, and make changes the exceptions, not the rule.Strive For BalanceWhen you’re on your deathbed, I guarantee you won’t be wishing you’d spent more time at work.  To be the most productive you can be, you need be able to focus.  And to focus, you need to have balance in all areas of your life.  So while you’re building business, don’t forget the other important things in your life like family, friends, health, and faith.  There will be times when one area occupies more attention, but strive to always bring things back into balance.Making the most of your time at work will let you not only accomplish more, but to do so with more energy and enthusiasm.
